Offering quality training in Tap, Jazz, and Ballet
Dance Creations, Inc. began on February 2, 1986 as The Dance Connection in a very small building in Bellingham, MA. The first year's registration had 29 students and our first performance was held 10 months later on December 7, 1986 at Woonsocket Senior High School. We continued our classes at the Bellingham location for one more year. In July of 1988 we moved to the Longley Building on Main Street in Woonsocket. At that time, we had 45 students. In July of 1992 we moved to our present location on Circle Street. At present, we have approximately 150 students participating in classes. Through the past 25 years, my students have participated in local events, master classes, and regional and national competitions winning many awards. I have students who participate in the dance programs in their high schools and colleges. Many of my students have continued their dance education in colleges, such as Dean College School of Dance, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, Shenandoah University, and Tampa University. I also have students that have done pre-professional and professional work in such places as off-Broadway shows in New York City and Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I have students who have gone on to teach and choreograph for dance competition teams and dance companies in the mid-west and Florida and have also judged for national competitions throughout the U.S. Dance Creations, Inc. was chosen as the best school for dance education in the Blackstone Valley area in 2004 and 2005.

The annual performance will be held at Woonsocket Senior High School in November, with two performances, one Saturday evening performance, and one Sunday afternoon performance. There will be a Family Ticket Sale Day approximately one month prior to the performance where you may purchase up to ten tickets for immediate family. Tickets for the public will go on sale after that day. Tickets for our 2010 performance will be $15.00.
Fall Registration will begin in September. Please call the studio at 401-765-2937 for more information, or to schedule an appointment to watch a class through our observation window.
Tickets for the performance will be going on sale beginning Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 1pm - 5pm. Sunday, September 19 is "Family Ticket Sale Day". Each family will be able to purchase up to ten (10) tickets on that day for your immediate family. After September 19, ticket sales will be open to the public and you can purchase as many tickets as you wish. Please refrain from buying tickets for other families in the studio on September 19 unless you will not be using all of your ten tickets on that day and wish to share the remainder of your tickets with someone else. If you cannot come to the first sale date and wish to send someone in your place, you may do so, although, no one person can buy tickets under two family names. Each person that comes into the office will be asked for the family name they are purchasing tickets for. Once your name has been used on that Sunday, no one will be able to purchase tickets under your name again on that day, and the person that purchases the tickets for you will not be able to purchase tickets under any other name. After the first ticket sale day, there will be no limit on how many tickets you may purchase. Ticket sales will be open to the public beginning Monday, September 20, 2010.

Tickets will be available Monday - Thursday, 5pm - 8pm and Saturday, 9am - 3pm until the performance with the exception of Wednesday, September 22, 2010. The studio will be closed that day. All seats are reserved. All sales are final. All tickets are $15. There are no children's prices. Everyone needs to purchase a ticket if they are attending a performance. No one can have a child sit on their lap during the performance to avoid buying a ticket for that child. All tickets must be paid in full at time of purchase. Cash and/or checks are acceptable. Sorry, no credit or debit cards can be taken. Please see Mrs. Masse and/or Lorna Ames in the office for tickets.

On September 19, please use the door that leads up to the dance room to enter the building rather than the door we usually use. There will be signs on the doors indicating the entrance and exit. This will allow everyone to use the dance room as a waiting area. Tickets will be purchased in the office, and you may leave by the usual door. You will receive a number as you enter so you may sit anywhere in the waiting room (dance room) and you will be called numerically. If you are not there when your number is called, it will be passed and you will have to take another number when you come back. There are no exceptions to this rule. After the first sale date, please use the regular door as classes and rehearsals will be in session.

On Monday, September 20, 2010, the doors of the studio will open at 3:30pm. You may pick up a number (which will be on a table in the hallway) and then you can come back at 5pm. There is no need to wait in the studio once you have your number. There is not enough room for people waiting for tickets and students and parents that are here for classes. Please do not be late. If you are not there when your number is called, they will pass by your number and you will have to take another number when you come back. There are no exceptions to this rule.

When you purchase your tickets, you will be given a "BACKSTAGE PASS" for each mother or female guardian to enter the cafeteria during the weekend of the performance. You will need this pass on Friday for Dress Rehearsal and on Saturday and Sunday for the performances. For the safety of the children, there will be someone at the door of the cafeteria checking for these passes. No one will be allowed into the cafeteria without a pass. At the end of the weekend, there will be a place for everyone to hand in their backstage passes.
