We utilize the products that we feel are the best and safest for your beloved pet. and we maintain a supply of therapeutic diets for your pets special needs.
Ferguson Animal hospital also has a comprehensive pain management program for our aging friends, or for patients recovering from an injury or surgical procedure.

We've relocated to our new facility at 660 Woonasquatucket Avenue in the Centerdale section of North Providence in order to provide our clients with a more modern facility and ample parking. The hospital is now located at the intersection of Smith Street and Woonasquatucket Avenue at the rotary. We've moved just over a mile from the old location at High Service Avenue. Plenty of parking is available in our large lot. Come in and ask for a tour!

Ferguson Animal Hospital was started in Newport Rhode Island in 1931, by Howard F. Ferguson, D.V.M., a graduate of Ontario Veterinary College. Dr. Ferguson treated family pets, and farm animals. When World War II broke out it became Dr. Ferguson's duty to watch over Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut's farm animals. In order to be more centrally located the doctor moved his practice to North Providence in 1942. George H. Ferguson joined his father's practice in 1962 after graduating from Michigan State Veterinary College. George Ferguson, D.V.M. took over the practice after his father's death in 1967, and the hospital has been run under his supervision until his death in August of 2003. Ferguson Animal Hospital is now a companion animal only practice due to the decreased demand for farm animal care in our area. Dr Ferguson's family, and the Ferguson Animal Hospital Team are dedicated to continuing the 79 year long tradition of caring for your family pets.
